NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Phil Kessel's second goal of the game, coming 3:08 into overtime Friday, gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers.

The Maple Leafs remained unbeaten through four games this season and the spoiled the home opener of the Rangers, who had split their first two outings on the road.

Toronto has put together a 4-0 start for the first time since they won a franchise record 10 consecutive games to begin the 1993-94 season.

Clarke MacArthur, Mike Komisarek and Kessel scored in the span of 5:46 of the second period to give Toronto a 3-1 lead. New York rallied in the third period and tied it on Brian Boyle's slapshot with 13:41 left in regulation.

New York's Marc Staal was sent off for interference 2:46 into overtime and Kessel ended the game 22 seconds later. He has scored four goals in Toronto's four games and MacArthur has produced five.

The win went to Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who made 21 saves. Giguere has been in goal for three of the Toronto wins.

Henrik Lundqvist allowed four goals on 38 shots.
