Eagles' Bunkley likely out for season

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Broderick Bunkley injured an elbow ligament and likely will miss the rest of the season, the team said Monday.

Bunkley hurt the elbow in Sunday's Eagles 27-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The fifth-year player hyper-extended his elbow in the first quarter and was taken out of the game. Further tests revealed the extent of the injury, the team said.

Bunkley had recorded nine tackles no sacks in over the Eagles' first five games.
