PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Carlo Colaiacovo's shot off a rebound 1:47 into overtime Saturday lifted the St. Louis Blues to a season-opening 2-1 win over Philadelphia.

The Blues broke in on Flyers goalie Brian Boucher, with Alex Steen taking a shot. Boucher blocked the first try, but Colaiacovo collected the long rebound at the point and unleashed the game-winner from there.

Brad Boyes got the Blues' other goal. Jaroslav Halak turned aside 29-of-30 shots in the victory -- his first game with St. Louis after being obtained in an off-season deal from Montreal.

Daniel Briere notched Philadelphia's only goal and Boucher ended up making 23 saves in a hard-fought loss.
