UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro's goal in the third round of a shootout proved the difference Saturday in the Dallas Stars' 5-4 decision over the New York Islanders.

Ribeiro faked Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro and chipped the puck into a half-empty net in the game-winning move. He also added two assists to help the Stars to their second win in two nights.

Brenden Morrow notched a pair of goals, and Stephane Robidas and Jamie Benn added one marker apiece for Dallas.

Kari Lehtonen stopped 43 shots for the victors.

The Islanders got a goal and two assists from Doug Weight. James Wisniewski added a goal and a helper.

New York forward John Tavares left the game in the first period with what the team said was a mild concussion. He is to be re-evaluated Monday.
