COL FB: Wisconsin 41, Minnesota 23

MADISON, Wis., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- James White and John Clay combined for five rushing touchdowns in No. 19 Wisconsin's 41-23 win over visiting Minnesota Saturday.

Clay had 21 carries for 111 yards and three TDs and White ran 19 times for 118 yards and two scores for the Badgers (5-1, 1-1 Big Ten), who have won their last seven contests against conference rival Minnesota (1-5, 0-2).

Scott Tolzien had an efficient 17-of-23 day for 223 yards and one touchdown. The Badgers wore down the Golden Gophers defense with 28 points in the second half and 473 yards of total offense in the game.

Adam Weber threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns for the Gophers (1-5, 0-2), but completed only 11-of-25 passes. Da'Jon McKnight caught two of the TD passes, both in the fourth quarter.

DeLeon Eskridge ran for 72 yards as Minnesota dropped its fifth straight game.
