Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
CHESTER, Pa., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Edson Buddle scored in the 27th minute Thursday, helping the Los Angeles Galaxy to a tougher-than-expected 1-0 victory over Philadelphia.
Los Angeles improved to 17-6-5 and moved five points in front of second-place Real Salt Lake in the battle for the top spot in the Western Conference. Los Angeles has two games remaining and Salt Lake has three.
Buddle scored his 14th goal of the season off a corner kick by David Beckham. It was the first assist of the year for Beckham.
Philadelphia (7-14-7) is out of contention for the MLS playoffs.
