ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis will miss 4-6 weeks with a groin injury, the NFL team said Wednesday.

Portis was injured in the third quarter of Washington's 17-12 win Sunday in Philadelphia. Subsequent examinations revealed a groin separation, Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday. He said Portis would miss at least a month and possibly six weeks.

Portis, in his ninth NFL season, has rushed for 195 yards this season, including 55 against the Eagles.

He'll be replaced at the top of the depth chart by second-year pro Ryan Torain, who carried 18 times for 70 yards and a touchdown last Sunday.

Washington, 2-2, plays Green Bay, 3-1, at home Sunday.
