SEATTLE, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks acquired running back Marshawn Lynch from the Buffalo Bills for draft picks Tuesday, the teams said.

Details about the draft picks weren't released, but multiple media reports indicated they could include at least a fourth-round selection in 2011.

"Marshawn has worked hard and played hard for us this season and we certainly appreciate his efforts," Bills General Manager Buddy Nix said. "We are constantly evaluating our personnel and feel that this is a good move for our team's future."

Lynch, 24, gained only eight yards on four carries in Sunday's 38-14 Bills loss to the Jets. So far this year he has picked up 164 yards on 37 carries in four games, with one reception for seven yards during Buffalo's 0-4 start.

Lynch said during the off-season was looking to play for another team. In his career, he has compiled 2,765 yards and 17 touchdowns on 687 carries, with 670 receiving yards and one score on 94 catches.
