Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI


NEW YORK, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce was named the National League's player of the week Monday.
During the last week of the regular season, Bruce hit .444, bashed four homers and helped the Reds clinch the NL Central Division championship. He had an NL-best 1.111 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage for the week.
Other nominees for the weekly award included Bruce's teammate Drew Stubbs, Pittsburgh's Pedro Alvarez and Ronny Cedeno, Milwaukee's Lorenzo Cain, Colorado's Dexter Fowler, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Matt Kemp and Ted Lilly, St. Louis's Matt Pagnozzi, Florida's Mike Stanton, Houston's Nelson Figueroa, Atlanta's Tommy Hanson and the Chicago Cubs' Carlos Marmol.
