KANSAS CITY, Kan., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Greg Biffle wrested the lead with 60 laps remaining Sunday and went on to claim the Price Chopper 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Biffle kept his Sprint Cup Series championship hopes alive with the emphatic victory, while Jimmie Johnson finished second to take over the circuit's points lead from Denny Hamlin.

Biffle grabbed the lead for a second time with less than 30 laps to go after the final round of pit stops under green, finishing 7.6 seconds ahead of Johnson for his second victory of the season and the 16th of his Sprint Cup career.

Hamlin fell into second in the points standings after his 12th-place finish.
