Sunday's championship match will be the fourth meeting between Youzhny and Golubev. All of the previous matches have been won by Youzhny.

Youzhny will be the third Top 11 player faced by Golubev this week. He beat world No. 5 Robin Soderling in the second round before topping No. 11 Ferrer. Youzhny is ranked No. 9 this week.

Youzhny won nearly two-thirds of the points after dropping the first set. Both service breaks he suffered were in the first set. Andreev lost his serve five times over the second and third sets.

Golubev cashed in two of his nine break-point chances versus Ferrer and lost only 19 points in 12 service games.
