MLB: Florida 2, Pittsburgh 0

MIAMI, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Jorge Sosa and four Florida relievers combined on a six-hit shutout Saturday, a 2-0 whitewashing of Pittsburgh.

Sosa hurled the first four scoreless frames, allowing five hits, and Brian Sanchez (2-2) collected the victory after following up with two more shutout innings.

Jose Veras, Leo Nunez and Clay Hensley added one scoreless frame each for Florida, which took a 2-1 lead in their season-ending, four-game series with the Pirates.

Mike Stanton and Chad Tracy drove in the Florida runs.

Charlie Morton (2-12) absorbed the defeat, yielding a pair of runs on four hits through six innings for the Pirates.
