NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Dave Bush threw six shutout innings and drove in a run Wednesday, helping Milwaukee complete a doubleheader sweep with a 3-1 win over the New York Mets.

Bush (8-13), who had not won since Aug. 29, gave up three hits and left the game with a 1-0 lead.

That run was scored in the third when Alcides Escobar had a leadoff triple against R.A. Dickey (11-9) and came in on Bush's one-out single to right.

Milwaukee extended the lead to 3-0 in the eighth on Ryan Braun's two-run double.

The Mets got their only run on an RBI single by Ike Davis in the bottom of the eighth.

The Brewers won the opener 8-7.
