Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- The Buffalo Bills have released Trent Edwards, who until last week was their starting quarterback, the team said Monday.
Edwards was replaced after the Bills lost their first two games in which he completed a combined 29-of-52 passes for 241 and one touchdown.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, the new starter, completed 20-of-28 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-30 loss to New England Sunday.
The Bills are expected to sign another quarterback this week. Their only quarterback other than Fitzpatrick, who is in his sixth NFL season, is Brian Brohm, who has appeared in two NFL games.
Edwards started 32 of the 34 games he played for Buffalo after the Bills took him in the third round of the 2007 draft. He was 14-18 as a starter, passing for 5,739 yards with 25 touchdowns and 27 interceptions.
