NFL: Kansas City 31, San Francisco 10

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Matt Cassel winged three touchdown passes Sunday, boosting Kansas City to a 31-10 rout of San Francisco.

Cassel went 16-of-27 through the air for 250 yards for the Chiefs, who are off to their first 3-0 start since 2003.

Thomas Jones rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown and Jamaal Charles added 97 yards on the ground for the victors.

Three of Cassels' completions went to Dexter McCluster, who gained 69 yards and scored a touchdown.

The 49ers (0-3) were led by Alex Smith, who passed for 232 yards with an interception and one touchdown, accomplished on the last play of the game.

The Frank Gore caught nine passes for 102 yards and rushed 15 times for 43 yards in San Francisco's setback.
