
GLENDALE, Ariz., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Sebastian Janikowski missed a 32-yard field goal as time ran out Sunday, allowing the Arizona Cardinals to eke out a 24-23 victory over Oakland.
Janikowski's try went wide left, handing the Cardinals (2-1) a victory in their home-opener for the fourth time in five years.
LaRod Stephens-Howling got Arizona off to good start by returning the opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown and Derek Anderson tossed for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win, going 12-of-26 through the air.
Steve Breaston collected a second-quarter TD pass and Larry Fitzgerald got the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter for the Cardinals.
Bruce Gradkowski connected on 17-of-34 pass attempts for 255 yards with one score and an interception for the Raiders (1-2).
Darren McFadden gained 105 yards and a notched a score on 25 carries and Louis Murphy hauled down five passes for 119 yards in Oakland's loss.
