MADISON, Wis., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers set a school record for points scored Saturday in a 70-3 rout of visiting Austin Peay.
James White ran for 145 yards and four touchdowns and quarterback Scott Tolzien threw for three more TDs for the Badgers (4-0).
Tolzien was an impressive 15-of-17 for 217 yards and led the Badgers to scores on their first seven possessions. The final score topped the previous Wisconsin record for points in a game of 69, which was set in 1962 against New Mexico State.
John Clay ran for 118 yards and one TD, extending his streak of consecutive 100-yard games to 10.
Austin Peay (2-2) had no turnovers in the game but had only 157 total yards and a 51-yard field goal by Stephen Stansell in the second quarter. Jake Ryan was 9-of-19 for 115 yards.
