CHICAGO, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Adam Wainwright collected his 20th victory and Allen Craig hit a three-run home run Friday in pacing the St. Louis Cardinals to a 7-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Wainwright (20-11) joined Philadelphia's Roy Halladay and the New York Yankees' CC Sabathia as 20-game winners this season. He allowed six hits, one walk and one run and struck out seven over six innings.
The Cardinals wasted no time in supporting Wainwright. With two outs in the first Albert Pujols walked -- the first of three walks he had Friday -- and Matt Holliday followed with a single. Craig then connected for his third home run of the season.
St. Louis racked up seven hits, five walks and seven runs -- all earned -- off Chicago starter Tom Gorzelanny (7-9).
Wainwright doubles in a run in the second and allowed the lone Cubs run in the bottom of the inning when Aramis Ramirez hit a home run.
St. Louis added two runs in the third, with Pujols, who walked to open the inning, scoring one run and Pedro Feliz the other. The Cardinals made it 7-1 the next inning on Jon Jay's bases-loaded walk.
