RENTON, Wash., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks announced Thursday they have hired Peter McLoughlin to serve as the team's president.
McLoughlin will be responsible for the team's business operations, sales and marketing and will handle those duties as well for the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer.
"Peter is a bright, proven leader who believes as I do that the fans always come first and understands the importance of community," Seahawks owner Paul Allen said. "He is experienced in all aspects of the business side of sports."
McLoughlin replaced Tod Leiweke, who was president of the Seahawks for seven years before leaving in July to become a part owner and executive of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL.
McLoughlin had been the chief executive officer of the St. Louis Blues before coming to the Seahawks.
