PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Roy Oswalt and two relievers combined on a one-hitter Wednesday and the Philadelphia Phillies moved closer to a division title by downing Atlanta 1-0.

The Phillies won their 10th in a row, sweeping Atlanta in a three-game series that featured outstanding pitching. Philadelphia moved six games in front of the second-place Braves in the National League East and reduced their magic number for clinching the division title to four.

Atlanta began the night with a one-game lead over San Diego in the wild-card race.

Oswalt, obtained from Houston in a trade-deadline deal, was looking for his sixth straight win but he left a scoreless game after seven innings having allowed one hit and struck out eight.

Ryan Madson (6-2) worked the eighth and was credited with the win when the Phillies pushed across the only run of the game in that inning. Brad Lidge issued a two-out walk to Jason Heyward in the ninth and Martin Prado worked a 3-2 count on Lidge before flying out to right to end the game.

Lidge recorded his 26th save.

The only Atlanta hit was a two-out double by Prado in the fourth. Cole Hamels gave up a run over eight innings in the series opener Monday and Roy Halladay became the first 20-game winner in the National League with a seven-inning effort Tuesday.

Jonny Venters (4-3) came on to work the eighth for Atlanta and hit Chase Utley with the first pitch of the inning He then appeared to have escaped any trouble by getting Ryan Howard to ground into a double play.

Jayson Werth, however, drew a walk and scored from first when Raul Ibanez doubled to deep left.
