LONDON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick returned to the men's tennis world Top 10 Monday after the ATP took the week off.

There were no ATP tournaments last week as the tour stepped aside for the Davis Cup semifinals -- France and Serbia will meet in December's finals -- and world group playoffs.

But David Ferrer lost 65 ratings points -- about 2 percent of his previous total -- and that was enough for Roddick to move from 11th to 10th. It ended a one-week stint in the Top 10 for Ferrer, who was ranked fifth in October 2008 but had bounced around the second 10 since then.

Roddick has been a mainstay in the top tier of the rankings, having dropped out of the Top 10 a total of just 12 weeks since October 2002. Four of those weeks have come since Aug. 9.

Rafael Nadal, who has locked up the No. 1 spot through the end of the year, sits solidly atop the rankings with Novak Djokovic second and Roger Federer third. Andy Murray is fourth, ahead of Robin Soderling.

Nikolay Davydenko holds sixth place with Tomas Berdych at No. 7, Fernando Verdasco in eighth and Mikhail Youzhny ninth.
