Tipsarevic then followed that win up with a relatively easy 6-0, 7-6, 6-4 decision over Stepanek, putting Serbia into the Davis Cup finals against France.

France, which downed Argentina 5-0 in the weekend's other semifinal, will face Serbia for the Davis Cup crown in December.

Djokovic, the world No. 2, missed Friday's play with illness and had to battle through knee pain in his clutch performance against Berdych, thrilling a crowd of 18,000 at Belgrade with a tense 3-hour, 14-minute victory.
