COL FB: Wisconsin 20, Arizona State 19

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Jay Valai blocked an extra-point try late in the game Saturday and No. 11 Wisconsin hung on to defeat Arizona State 20-19.

ASU's Cameron Marshall rushed for a touchdown that got the Sun Devils to within a point with 5:01 remaining in the game, but Thomas Weber's extra-point try was blocked by Valai.

Scott Tolzien threw for 246 yards with one touchdown, completing 19-of-25 passes for the Badgers (3-0), while John Clay rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

Arizona State (2-1) was led by Steven Threet, who piled up 211 yards on 21-of-33 completions.

Kerry Taylor hauled down six passes for 71 yards and Deantre Lewis contributed 122 yards on nine carries for the Sun Devils.
