Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- The Anaheim Ducks have signed restricted free agent winger Bobby Ryan to five-year contract, the team said Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but ESPN reported it is worth $25.5 million, with $3.25 million to be paid in the upcoming 2010-11 season and $5.56 million in each year thereafter.
"We're pleased to have come to an agreement with Bobby before training camp," General Manager Bob Murray said. "Bobby is already a proven NHL goal scorer at the age of 23 and certainly has his best years ahead of him."
Ryan, 23, scored a career-high 64 points (35 goals, 29 assists) in 81 contests last season, his second full year with Anaheim. The Cherry Hill, N.J., native was second in the NHL among U.S.-born players in goal scoring and was tied for 10th in the NHL overall.
"I want to say how excited I am to be moving forward with the Ducks organization," Ryan said. "I'm also very excited for where this team is headed and to be a part of it."
