CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Carolina starting quarterback Matt Moore has been diagnosed with a concussion, Panthers Coach John Fox said.
Moore left Sunday's game -- a 31-18 loss to the New York Giants -- with 2:28 to play after taking a blind-side hit. He was replaced by rookie Jimmy Clausen.
Fox said Moore reported feeling "a lot better" Monday but will undergo a series of tests, per NFL policy on head injuries, before being allowed to practice to play in future games.
Fox said if Moore can play Sunday, he will be the starting quarterback. Clausen will get the call if Moore can't play.
Moore completed 14-of-33 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown but also was intercepted three times by the Giants. Clausen was 0-for-2 in his limited action.
The Panthers have a home game Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
