MLB: Oakland 4, Boston 3

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Jack Cust drove in a pair of runs and Rajai Davis hit an RBI triple Saturday, staking the Oakland Athletics to a 4-3 decision over Boston.

Mark Ellis delivered an RBI single in a decisive, three-run seventh inning and the A's won their second straight over Boston.

Brett Anderson (5-6) held the Bosox to two runs on eight hits and three walks in seven frames. Andrew Bailey got his 23rd save of the year despite yielding a run on two hits in the ninth.

Red Sox starter John Lackey (12-10) was tagged with the loss, allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings. It was his third straight loss.

Marco Scutaro homered for Boston.
