HILVERSUM, Netherlands, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Martin Kaymer followed up last month's PGA Championship victory by taking the KLM Open Sunday, posting a four-shot win with a 4-under 66.
Kaymer, making his first appearance since his major victory at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, finished at 14-under 266, four better than Christian Nilsson and Fabrizio Zanotti, who both closed with 1-under 69s to share second place at 10-under 270.
Kaymer won his third event of the year -- the second player on the European Tour to do so following Ryder Cup teammate Miguel Angel Jimenez -- and earned his seventh career title.
Following Nilsson and Zanotti in four-way tie for fourth place at minus-8 were British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen (65), Jose Manuel Lara (65), David Horsey (68) and Gonzalo Fdez-Castano (69) at the Hilversumsche Golf Club in the Netherlands.
