MIAMI, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Miami Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland has taken on responsibility for all aspects of the NFL team and support staff, the Dolphins said Tuesday.

The club also said Bill Parcells, who had been executive vice president of football operations, will step aside and move into a consulting role as agreed when he joined the franchise in December 2007.

Ireland came to the Dolphins in January 2008 after seven years with Dallas. He was a scout with Kansas City from 1997-2000 and before that was the special teams coach at the University of North Texas from 1992-93.
