
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Placido Polanco and Chase Utley each drove in a pair of runs Monday in a 7-4 Philadelphia win over Florida that gave the Phillies a split of their doubleheader.
Polanco stroked a two-out, two-run double to highlight a five-run second inning. He also tripled off the wall and scored on Utley's single in the fifth to give the Phillies some breathing room at 6-4.
Philadelphia moved to within a half-game of Atlanta for the National League East lead. The Phillies also lengthened their NL wild card lead over San Francisco to 1 1/2 games.
Shane Victorino went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored and Raul Ibanez chipped in with two hits and a run driven in for the Phillies.
Roy Oswalt (11-13) got the win after allowing four runs on six hits over seven innings. Brad Lidge picked up his 21st save.
Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez (11-9) was saddled with the loss, surrendering seven runs on seven hits through four innings.
Cameron Maybin, Hanley Ramirez and Mike Stanton all homered for Florida.
