DENVER, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki socked a fifth-inning, go-ahead homer and Ubaldo Jimenez got his 18th win Monday in the Colorado Rockies' 10-5 victory over Cincinnati.
Tulowitzki's blast off Bill Bray (0-2) put the Rockies up for good at 6-5.
He finished 2-for-5 with three RBI and Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with two RBI, extending his hitting streak 14 games and helping Colorado to a win in the first of a four-game series at Coors Field.
Jimenez (18-6) broke the Rockies' team record for wins in a season after going five starts without a victory. He notched the win despite yielding four runs on seven hits and six walks through six innings.
The third-place Rockies entered the contest 4 1/2 games in back of San Diego in the National League West. They pulled within 4 1/2 games Philadelphia in the NL wild card race with the victory.
Cincinnati lost for the third time in four games. The Reds' lead in the NL Central dwindled to six games over St. Louis.
