NORTON, Mass., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Charley Hoffman just missed a course record Monday en route to a convincing 5-stroke victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass.
Hoffman fired a 9-under-par 62 and missed the TPC Boston course record by a single stroke. He did, however, match the tournament's scoring record of 22-under 262 to claim his second career PGA Tour win.
Finishing a distant second were Geoff Ogilvy, who carded a 5-under 66, third-round leader Jason Day (71) and Luke Donald (69) at 17-under 267.
Tom Gillis (65), Adam Scott (67) and Brandt Snedeker (71) ended up in a fifth-place tie one shot further back at minus-16.
Phil Mickelson once again missed a chance to pass Tiger Woods at the top of the world rankings after Woods closed with a 3-under 68 to finish tied for 11th at 10-under 274.
Mickelson struggled on the back nine and shot 5-over 76 to fall into a share of 25th at minus-7.
