HOUSTON, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Brazilian star Geovanni scored the winning goal Sunday in San Jose's 2-1 Major League Soccer victory over Houston.

Geovanni, making his first MLS start since being signed as a designated player, also assisted on the Earthquakes' first score by Khari Stephenson 6 minutes into the game.

Brad Davis got the Dynamo's goal just before halftime but Geovanni regained the lead for San Jose for good in the 64th minute.
