LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Juan Uribe's two-run, ninth-inning homer Saturday rallied the San Francisco Giants to a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Trailing at one time 4-0, the Giants bashed four homers, capped by the Uribe's smash into the left field stands that scored Cody Ross in front of him and handed the Giants a key win in their quest to catch the San Diego Padres in the National League West.
Buster Posey homered in the seventh to cut the Giants' deficit to 4-1. Edgar Renteria and Pat Burrell each went deep in the next frame to set up Uribe's game-winner off Jonathan Broxton (5-5).
The victory enabled San Francisco to pull within two games of the slumping Padres in the NL West.
Javier Lopez (4-2) got the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Brian Wilson collected his 39th save despite allowing the potential tying run to reach third base in the ninth.
Jay Gibbons belted a three-run homer and Casey Blake went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Los Angeles.
