ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Andy Dalton passed for a touchdown and rushed for two more Saturday, carrying No. 7 Texas Christian to a 30-21 win over No. 22 Oregon State.
One of Dalton's rushing touchdowns provided the go-ahead score in the third quarter. He went 17-for-27 with 175 yards and two interceptions, and also had 15 carries for 64 yards for the Horned Frogs (1-0).
The victory was the 30th of Dalton's collegiate career, breaking the TCU record held for many years by Sammy Baugh.
Ed Wesley gained 134 yards and scored a touchdown on 17 carries and Jeremy Kerley hauled down six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown for the victors.
The Beavers (0-1) were led by Ryan Katz, who went 9-for-25 for 159 yards and two scores.
Jacquizz Rodgers contributed 18 carries for 75 yards and a score in Oregon State's opening-game setback.
