Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored after a mistake by D.C. United rookie goalie Bill Hamid, sending the Columbus Crew to a 1-0 victory Saturday.
Hamid misplayed a back pass, allowing the ball to pop into the air. He then whiffed while trying to half-volley the ball and Schelotto was johnny-on-the-spot to easily slot the ball into the empty net in the 23rd minute.
The win gave Columbus a 13-5-5 record, equaling Los Angeles for the best record in Major League Soccer.
United failed to get a shot on goal as it was shut out for the 15th time this year and fell to 4-16-3.
