PITTSBURGH, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Ivan Rodriguez blasted a two-run homer and drove in four runs Saturday in the Washington Nationals' 9-2 win over Pittsburgh.
Ian Desmond chipped in with three hits and an RBI in the Nats' victory, which evened their three-game series with the Pirates.

John Lannan (7-6) fanned seven batters in seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk.
Pittsburgh Paul Maholm's (7-14) absorbed his fifth loss in six starts, surrendering eight hits and seven runs in 4 1/3 frames.
The Pirates got a homer from Andrew McCutchen en route to their sixth loss in the last eight games.
