MLB: Detroit 6, Kansas City 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Austin Jackson drove in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning single Saturday, lifting the Detroit Tigers to a 6-4 win over Kansas City.

Jackson ended 3-for-4 with a fifth-inning home run for the Tigers, who won their third straight game.

Miguel Cabrera returned from a bout of biceps tendinitis to add a two-run double in the victory.

Starter Rick Porcello (8-11) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk in seven innings. Jose Valverde came in to toss a scoreless ninth to get his 25th save.

Kansas City's Dusty Hughes (1-2) took the loss for surrendering two eighth-inning tallies.

Kila Ka'aihue homered and drove in three runs for the Royals.
