
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- John Brantley threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns and led No. 4 Florida past Miami-Ohio 34-12 in the Gators' first game of the post-Tim Tebow area.
Brantley was 17-of-25 passing in the game in which Florida scored 13 fourth-quarter points against the determined RedHawks.
Both teams finished with an identical 212 yards of total offense, but Miami-Ohio managed only four field goals by Trevor Cook.
Miami-Ohio led 3-0 after one quarter, but Florida scored three consecutive touchdowns in the second quarter to take control, including one on a 70-yard interception return by Janoris Jenkins.
Jeffrey Demps had a 72-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for the Gators.
Zac Dysert threw for 191 yards for Miami-Ohio but was intercepted four times.
