COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Brandon Saine scored twice Thursday and No. 2 Ohio State piled up 529 yards in starting the season with a 45-7 victory over Marshall.
The Buckeyes totaled 282 rushing yards -- 103 of it from Saine and another 80 from Jaamal Berry.
Saine scored on a 4-yard run in the first period to give the Buckeyes a 14-0 lead and added a 45-yard scoring romp early in the second. Ohio State owned a 35-7 advantage at halftime.
Terrelle Pryor completed 17-of-25 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to DeVier Posey. Brian Rolle had a 30-yard interception return for a score.
The only Marshall touchdown came on a 64-yard return of a blocked field goal attempt by Ahmed Shakoor that briefly brought the Thundering Herd within 14-7.
Pryor, a junior, led Ohio State to an 11-2 season in 2009 and a Rose Bowl victory over Oregon. The Buckeyes will meet Miami next week in an early-season test for both teams.
