ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Jose Bautista socked his 43rd homer of the year Tuesday, keying a 15-hit attack in the Toronto Blue Jays' 13-5 rout of Tampa Bay.
Bautista's three-run blast capped a 10-run sixth inning, during which Aaron Hill also homered and the Blue Jays sent 14 men to the plate, collecting eight hits.
Bautista ended with four RBI, John McDonald added a solo shot and DeWayne Wise went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs driven in for Toronto, which evened its three-game series with the Rays at one win apiece.
Rickey Romero (11-8) got the win despite allowing five walks and four earned runs on three hits over 7 1/3 innings.
Tampa Bay's Jeff Niemann (10-5) was tagged for seven runs on seven hits through five frames.
The Rays dropped out of first place in the American League East with the loss and now trail the New York Yankees by one game.
