Americans cruise to 4-0 in FIBA tournament

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Kevin Love and Kevin Durant combined for 25 points Wednesday in the United States' 88-51 rout of Iran at the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey.

Love finished with 13 points and Durant 12 as the United States remained unbeaten through its first four preliminary games and wrapped up the top spot in Group B. The Americans conclude preliminary round play Thursday against Tunisia, which is yet to win a game in this year's tournament.

The United States led just 12-10 before scoring seven straight points and then pulled away. The Americans led 42-28 at halftime and scored the first eight points of the second half.

Derrick Rose added 11 points and Danny Granger 10 for the United States. Iran got 19 points from Hamed Haddadi and 14 from Arsalan Kazemi.
