CNN suspends Martin for Super Bowl tweets

SEATTLE, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Peter Bourjos, Bobby Abreu and Hideki Matsu all hit sixth-inning homers Monday and the Los Angeles Angels bested Seattle 5-3.
The three blasts broke open a scoreless tie and sent the Angels to a victory in the first of a three-game set at Safeco Field.
Bourjos' and Abreu's homers came with the bases empty and Torii Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with a walk, scored on Matsui's blast.
Ervin Santana (14-9) got the victory, holding the Mariners to two runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings, walking none and striking out four.
Seattle starter David Pauley (2-6) was touched for four runs on six hits over six frames.
