Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- C.J. Wilson went 7 2/3 shutout innings Monday and the Texas Rangers whitewashed Kansas City 3-0.
Wilson (14-5) stifled the Royals on two hits, walking four and striking out six. The Rangers left-hander has gone 7-0 in nine starts since the All-Star Game.
Darren O'Day got the final out of the eighth inning and Neftali Feliz picked up his 33rd save of the year with a scoreless ninth to complete the shutout.
Elvis Andrus and Bengie Molina each had a pair of hits and a run driven in for the AL West-leading Rangers, who took the opener of a three-game set at Kauffman Stadium.
Kyle Davies (6-9) absorbed the loss for Kansas City, letting in three runs on 10 hits in 8 1/3 innings.
