MLB: San Francisco 9, Arizona 7

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jose Guillen's two-run, seventh-inning single rallied the San Francisco Giants from a one-run deficit to a 9-7 victory over Arizona Sunday.

The Giants had led by as many as four runs through much of the game, but surrendered the lead in the top of the seventh when the Diamondbacks pounded out four runs, capped by Adam LaRoche's two-run double.

But San Francisco responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Esmerling Vasquez (1-5) allowed a lead-off single to Freddy Sanchez (3-for 5, two RBI) and Aubrey Huff followed with a ground-rule double that left fielder Gerardo Parra lost in the sun.

Guillen then punched a single up the middle to score both runners to put the Giants back on top for good at 7-6.

Jeremy Affeldt (3-3) notched the victory despite allowing three hits and a run and Brian Wilson picked up his 36th save of the year.

San Francisco remained 1 1/2 games behind wild-card leader Philadelphia with the win.

Steven Drew went 4-for-5, homered and drove in three runs for the D-backs.
