MLB: Baltimore 1, Los Angeles Angels 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jeremy Guthrie tossed eight-plus shutout innings Sunday, staking the Baltimore Orioles to a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Guthrie (8-13) was dominant, yielding only four hits and a walk while striking out five for the O's, who swept a three-game series from the reeling Angels.

Guthrie tossed 107 pitches, 73 of them strikes. Koji Uehara recorded the final out of the game, inducing Torii Hunter to pop out with two runners in scoring position to notch his fourth save this season.

Matt Wieters drove in the only run of the game with a seventh-inning sacrifice fly.

Jered Weaver (11-10) took the tough-luck loss, holding the Orioles to one run on five hits in eight innings.
