NFL: Philadelphia 20, Kansas City 17

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Mike Kafka hit Riley Cooper with an 18-yard scoring pass in the final minute Friday that gave the Philadelphia Eagles a 20-17 win over Kansas City.

Ryan Succop put the Chiefs in front 17-13 lead by kicking a 43-yard field goal with 2:04 to play but Kafka then hit on 6-of-7 passes for 75 yards during the ensuing 80-yard drive. His touchdown pass came with 23 seconds to play.

The only other Philadelphia touchdown came in the game's first minute. LeSean McCoy scored on an 18-yard run two plays after Kansas City's Jamaal Charles fumbled the ball away on the first play of the contest.

David Akers kicked field goals of 39 and 27 yards for the Eagles.

Philadelphia starter Kevin Kolb was good on just 11-of-25 passes for 103 yards and an interception. Kansas City's Matt Cassel was 14-of-23 for 85 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
