NFL: Atlanta 16, Miami 6

MIAMI, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Matt Ryan's 18-yard scoring throw to Roddy White put Atlanta in front for good Friday and the Falcons went on to a 16-6 pre-season victory over Miami.

The Atlanta offense played into the third quarter, with Ryan completing 13-of-26 passes for 103 yards. He suffered one interception.

Chris Redman came into the game late in the third period and threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Brian Finneran at the end of a 71-yard, nine-play drive. White caught six passes for 47 yards.

The only Miami scoring came on field goals of 53 and 35 yards by Dan Carpenter. Chad Henne was 10-of-22 for 123 yards with an interception.

Miami managed just 46 rushing yards. Both teams are 2-1 with one pre-season game remaining.
