RUSTON, La., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Four Louisiana Tech football players were suspended indefinitely from the team for violating team rules, Coach Sonny Dykes said Friday.
The first-year coach didn't say what rules wide receivers Tim Molton, R.P. Stuart and Cruz Williams and linebacker Kiamni Washington broke. They were suspended retroactive to Aug. 23 and had not participated in team meetings or practices since Monday.
Washington, a senior, had 10 tackles in eight games in an injury-plagued 2009 season. Stuart, a junior, caught 17 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown in nine games last year. Williams, a redshirt sophomore, totaled 259 yards and three touchdowns on 15 receptions in 12 games.
Molton, another redshirt sophomore, sat out last season after transferring from Louisiana State.
Louisiana Tech starts its 2010 season Sept. 4 against Grambling.
