ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Michael Young drove in the go-ahead run with a seventh-inning single Tuesday and the Texas Rangers hung on to down Minnesota 4-3.
The Twins pulled into a 3-3 tie in the top of the frame on Alexi Casilla's RBI double, but the Rangers came right back in the next half-inning to go back in front for good.
Andres Blanco collected a one-out double off Carl Pavano (15-9), went to third on an out and scampered home on Young's solid line drive to left.
Darren Oliver, Darren O'Day and Neftali Feliz combined to hold Minnesota scoreless the rest of the way, lifting the American League West-leading Rangers to their second straight triumph over the AL Central-leading Twins.
Colby Lewis yielded three runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings and Josh Hamilton smacked his 29th homer of the year for the victors.
Michael Cuddyer drove in two runs with a first-inning double for the Twins.
