SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Joey Votto drove in the go-ahead run with a 12th-inning single and the Cincinnati Reds beat San Francisco 12-11 despite blowing a nine-run lead.

Votto grounded a two-out pitch from Barry Zito (8-9) through the right side of the infield to drive in Miguel Cairo, enabling the Reds to regain the advantage after squandering a 10-1 lead.

Francisco Cordero (4-4) wrapped up the win with scoreless bottom of the 12th, finishing two innings of shutout relief.

Votto bashed a pair of homers -- his 30th and 31st of the year -- and finished 4-for-7 with four RBI for Cincinnati.

Johnny Gomes and Drew Stubbs each collected two RBI and Paul Janish went 3-for-5 as the Reds built up a nine-run lead, only to see starter Homer Bailey and the bullpen fritter it away.

Andres Torres smacked a two-run double to cap a six-run, eighth-inning rally that gave the Giants an 11-10 lead. The Reds forced extra frames when Janish collected an RBI single off Giants reliever Arthur Rhodes in the ninth.

The Reds, who salvaged one win in a three-game series with the Giants, entered the game with a 2 1/2-game lead over St. Louis in the National League Central.
